LANDEN LEWIS BREAKS THROUGH IN WEST SERIES AT PORTLAND
After three straight runner-up finishes to start the season at Phoenix, Irwindale, and Kern County, Landen Lewis finally took his first win of the 2023 ARCA Menards Series West season in last week’s Portland 112 from Portland International Raceway. After taking his second consecutive General Tire Pole Award, Lewis led the first 15 laps of the race and got back out front to pull a nearly two-second lead on Cole Custer off the final restart.
Lewis, Custer, and Riley Herbst split the laps led on the day nearly evenly, with Herbst’s 22 circuits out front slightly more than the rest. Unfortunately, he’d suffer a mechanical failure that relegated him to an 18th place finish; instead, it was Dale Quarterley, William Sawalich, and Parker Retzlaff completing the top five. Lewis, meanwhile, was able to extend his points lead to 24 over Reif and Sean Hingorani with the victory.
RACE PREVIEW: GENERAL TIRE 200 AT SONOMA
The ARCA Menards Series West remains on the road—and on a road course—with Friday’s General Tire 200 at Sonoma Raceway. The fifth round of the 2023 campaign will stream live on Friday at 6:30PM ET on FloRacing, and will air on tape delay on CNBC on Sunday, June 18 at 11:30AM ET.
Few West races have a stronger turnout each year, with drivers dropping down from national NASCAR series to get more seat time before their Cup or Xfinity Series starts later in the weekend. Cup regular Ryan Preece of Stewart-Haas Racing will make his return for the first time since 2019, when he crossed the finish line first but was penalized for jumping a restart; his SHR teammates Custer and Herbst join Retzlaff and Kyle Sieg as Xfinity Series regulars doing double duty of their own for the second week in a row, while Sammy Smith will join the list after not competing in ARCA West at Portland.

ARCA Menards Series races are shown live on FS1 or FS2 (streamed live on the Fox Sports App and FloRacing). Standalone ARCA Menards Series East and West events are streamed live on FloRacing and shown on tape delay on CNBC. Check local listings for more details.
