Sanchez, Caruth Go 1-2 For Rev at Kansas

The Rev Racing duo of Nick Sanchez and Rajah Caruth took home a 1-2 finish for their team in Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series Dutch Boy 150 at Kansas Speedway. Sanchez, who scored his first career ARCA win at Kansas last October, counted the victory as his second of the season alongside last month’s General Tire 200 at Talladega; Caruth, meanwhile, earned his best career finish in the national ARCA series. The duo are now tied on points for the championship lead.

The battle for the win got a little easier for both when Venturini Motorsports’ Corey Heim and Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Drew Dollar got together in the second half of the race, with Dollar getting loose beneath Heim while trying to take the lead. Heim had led every lap until that point, and was going for his third straight top five finish to start the season. Instead, Daniel Dye, Gus Dean, and Connor Mosack would complete the top five at race’s end.

Venturini, Dollar Trade Post-Race Barbs

While Heim was understanding of Dollar’s challenge for the lead at Kansas, Venturini Motorsports team owner Billy Venturini wasn’t quite so friendly. “Great kid, does not need to be a race car driver,” he concluded after a frustrated live interview on FS1 in the immediate aftermath of the incident. Dollar would respond on Twitter in the following days by criticizing Venturini’s own ARCA driving career.

Dollar had been an ARCA driver for Venturini in each of the past two years before moving to Kyle Busch Motorsports. He finished fourth in points in a full-time 2020 national season with his only ARCA win to date at Talladega, and had 12 top five finishes for the team in 41 starts across all three ARCA divisions over the past two years. Dollar’s replacements in the #15 Toyota, Parker Chase and Gus Dean, have combined for two top fives in the first four races of the year, led by Chase’s second place finish at Daytona.
