JAKE FINCH TAKES GENERAL TIRE 125 AT DOVER FOR FIRST EAST SERIES WIN
Although rain postponed the General Tire 125 until last Saturday, Venturini Motorsports driver Jake Finch will be the first to tell you that sometimes good things come to those who wait. Carrying the same Phoenix Construction branding that adorned so many NASCAR and ARCA entries owned by his father James, Finch survived a challenge from Landen Lewis on the final green-white-checkered start of the race to take his first career ARCA win at Dover Motor Speedway.
Luke Fenhaus, William Sawalich, and Lavar Scott completed the top five, as all four will separated by just 1.164 seconds at the line. Sawalich remains the points leader by one over Finch after winning the season opener at Five Flags Speedway. The race will air on Sunday, May 7 at 11AM ET/8AM PT on CNBC.
RACE PREVIEW: KANSAS
The ARCA Menards Series heads into its fourth round of the 2023 campaign on Saturday with a visit to Kansas Speedway, its first intermediate track of the season, for the Dawn 150. It’ll mark the first of two Kansas races on the season, making the 1.5-mile tri-oval the only track to host the championship twice this year. The race will air live on Saturday at 2PM ET/11PM PT on FS1 and the Fox Sports App.
Frankie Muniz’s first full-time ARCA campaign has paid dividends with the points lead through three rounds, and the Rette Jones Racing driver will hope to improve on his early results by scoring his first top five of the year. Daytona winner Greg Van Alst will look to honor his late father, Bruce, by winning the first ARCA race since his passing, while Talladega winner Jesse Love will look to take two checkered flags in a row for Venturini Motorsports. Last year’s Kansas victories were split by Nick Sanchez and Corey Heim.
