We’ll be on hand for this weekend’s Monster Energy Supercross event in Foxborough! If you’re on site, the FanFest gets going at noon before doors open for the general public at 5:30PM ET, with opening ceremonies kicking off at 6:30 and race action starting shortly after 7.
After taking a year off in its annual rotation with MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Gillette Stadium is back on the calendar for the 13th round of the 2024 SuperMotocross season. The Monster Energy Supercross points chases are coming down to the wire, with the tightest of all—the 250SX East battle split by just two points between Cameron McAdoo and Tom Vialle—returning to action in the return to the home of the New England Patriots.
In the premier 450 class, neither incoming points leader Jett Lawrence nor last week’s winner in St. Louis, Eli Tomac, have won in Foxborough before. But Tomac is coming off the first Triple Crown event sweep of his legendary career, 100th 450SX class podium in 175 career starts, and record-setting 216th AMA podium, putting him ahead of Ricky Carmichael all-time. Lawrence, meanwhile, started off with a 2-3 in St. Louis before heavy contact with Justin Barcia left him 21st in the final race and eighth overall. Still, it wasn’t all bad news for the Lawrence family, or Honda Racing HRC—Hunter Lawrence scored the first podium of his 450SX career. It also opened the door for Cooper Webb, second overall with a 5-6-2 night, to claw to within eight points of Jett Lawrence coming into the weekend.
250SX East returns to action for the first time in almost a month after leaving off at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. As they are in the standings, McAdoo and Vialle were 1-2 overall in that Triple Crown event, with McAdoo’s 1-2-3 beating Vialle’s 4-3-1. Still within striking distance are defending SuperMotocross 250 champion Haiden Deegan and Pierce Brown, who were third and fourth in Indy and sit in the reverse order in the standings.
450SX racers missing this week that hope to be back for Nashville include Dylan Ferrandis and Dean Wilson, while the soon-retiring Adam Cianciarulo will still be racing despite a high ankle sprain suffered last week. In 250SX East, Jeremy Martin will join the extensive injury list as he sits out for the remainder of the season with a concussion.
