Shore Lunch Steps Up as Toledo Championship Race Sponsor
Longtime ARCA Menards Series race sponsor Shore Lunch will shift its primary race sponsorship to the series’ 2022 finale at Toledo Speedway on October 8. The 2022 Shore Lunch 200 will mark the first time in more than a decade that ARCA will conclude its season at its home track, and will be the 82nd ARCA Menards Series race at Toledo overall.
The list of past ARCA winners at Toledo reads like a who’s who of midwestern stock car racing stars, with Frank Kimmel and Ken Schrader among those with multiple triumphs at the track. Toledo winners on this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series entry list at Bristol Motor Speedway include Michael McDowell, Justin Allgaier, Chris Buescher, Ty Dillon, Todd Gilliland, and Harrison Burton. Current Xfinity Series title rivals Sam Mayer and Ty Gibbs are the track’s most recent national series winners, with Mayer sweeping the trio of races there in 2020 and Gibbs winning last spring’s event; that duo also split the pair of ARCA Menards Series East races at Toledo in 2020.
General Tire Expands Into eNASCAR With Blake Reynolds
General Tire’s reach in stock car racing continues to expand through the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series, where its distinctive red and white now cover the #15 Jim Beaver eSports Ford Mustang of Blake Reynolds. General Tire branding first appeared in the series in February at Daytona as part of promotion of the General Tire eShort Course Triple Crown on the CBS Sports Network, before taking over as Reynolds’ full primary partner in late March at Richmond Raceway. General Tire is also present on the #9 Ford Mustang driven by Reynolds’ teammate Michael Guest.
After his fourth straight top 20 finish to start the season at Richmond, Reynolds posted a season-best fourth place finish on Tuesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway. The 2019 eNASCAR Championship 4 driver worked his way past multiple cars during the 120-lap feature, and was locked in a battle for third place as the checkered flag fell. Reynolds now sits sixth in eNASCAR driver points, while a five-race top 10 streak split between Reynolds and Guest has Jim Beaver eSports second in the team championship.
