Jim Beaver eSports is pleased to officially welcome drivers Garrett Lowe and Malik Ray to the team for their first race in tonight’s exhibition eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series Clash at the Coliseum. As always, coverage can be seen at www.enascar.com/live starting at 8:30PM ET with Countdown to Green, and a green flag time of 9PM ET.
2022 was JBE’s breakout year at the highest level of virtual stock car racing. Drivers Blake Reynolds and Michael Guest teamed up to keep the team in contention for the teams championship all season long, and finished 11th and 12th in the final series standings. The duo combined for 10 top-five finishes and 18 top 10s over the course of the season, and JBE will be looking to better those marks as it enters its fifth year in the series in 2023.
Lowe will take over the flagship #15 Ford Mustang for Reynolds as he looks to replicate last year’s playoff performance. A multi-time winner at eNASCAR’s highest level, Lowe also boasts experience in the iRacing Rallycross World Championship and plenty of real-world success in Legends racing as he looks to work his way up the real-world racing ladder. The UNC-Charlotte student is also a frequent qualifier for eNASCAR College iRacing Series events, where he most recently led a race-high 51 laps in the spring 2023 opener from Iowa Speedway.
Ray will slot into the renumbered #7 Ford Mustang, keeping his number from his stint as an independent driver last year. On the track, the South Carolina native has a long history of being in contention for wins on iconic tracks like Daytona, Talladega, and Charlotte. Off it, Ray is one of the boldest voices in sim racing, and his always-entertaining Twitch streams reflect his heart-on-sleeve passion for winning.
To JBE and the off-road community, the Los Angeles Coliseum may be best known as the home of major supercross and off-road races for decades, but NASCAR put its own stamp on the facility last year by moving the preseason Clash to a temporary quarter-mile circuit within the iconic venue. The real-world race was so popular that it received a return engagement for 2023, and the virtual eNASCAR stars will take the track on for the second time tonight before the real-world pros hit it this Sunday.
Following the exhibition Clash, Ray and Lowe will run their first points-paying eNASCAR race for JBE at Daytona International Speedway on February 14. Further announcements about JBE’s other sim racing activities for 2023 will be made in the coming months.
